October 12th Fall Fun Clear Rounds & Trail!

An event every level of rider can enter!

Starting at 9 am

Practice our trail course up to three times with the help of one of  our Western coaches Jenny Bouwmeester. Then after join in a group  showmanship class with her and the amazing Lucci. Starts at 10 am.  Showmanship time pending on attendees. 

Trail $30 for members, $40 non members.
Showmanship $10 for members, $15 non members.
Think you want to do both clear rounds and trail no problem we will work the times!
Need stabling? $25/ night members, $35/ night non members.

Spring Clean Up April 13th and April 20th

we will be hosting a Spring Cleanup weekend. This is an opportunity for our members to get together and revive the grounds after the winter as we head into the spring and event season.

April 6-7 Leahona Rowland Spring Eventing Clinic

 * 1.5-2 hour sessions with max 4-5 riders per group

The spring eventing clinic is a chance for both horse and rider to dust off the winter cobwebs and have a positive, confidence giving first outing of the season. The clinic will be held on the sand surface at the Kelowna riding club using a mixture of both XC and show jumps.

Day 1: 

  • The first day of the clinic will involve making sure riders have the necessary rideability and focus needed at the start of the season
  • Exercises will focus on tuning up our jumping skills 

Day 2:

  • Will have more focus on technical XC questions and sharpening our XC instincts 
  • Course work practicing galloping questions and technical XC questions

April 13 Battle of the Barns- Trivia Pub Night

 The KRC presents the “Battle of the Barns” Trivia night- a fun new twist on our annual Pub Night fundraiser! This fun social returns this year better than ever, with burgers, beer, a silent auction table and a team trivia competition! The winning team will receive a prize, and of course bragging rights!

$30 each, includes a burger and a beer off a limited menu!

Minors ARE allowed if they are accompanied by an adult!

We will not have tickets at the door- last chance to purchase tickets will be April 10th!


 Barns can sign up teams of 4-6 people (can have more than one team per  barn) for our trivia tournament! Trivia will be a combination of general  knowledge and equine questions; each round will be a different game  show style! Winning team will receive a prize and bragging rights!

April 19-20th Equi-Life Spring Fever Hunter Schooling Day

 Join us Saturday April 20th for our Hunter Schooling Day! We will have a beautiful Hunter Course complete with fill, and some fun derby jumps! Instead of showing, we have decided to run our Spring Fever event as schooling rounds this year! This gives riders and trainers the opportunity to prepare for show season in a more relaxing atmosphere. Cost is $35 per horse/rider combination. Heights and times will fill up quickly so please enter asap.

Dr Andrew McLean, PhD (Equine Cognition & Learning), BSc (Zoology), Dip Ed

Co-Director, Equitation Science International

Winner of the highest Australian science award, the Eureka Prize for  Science, Andrew McLean is in great demand as a trainer, coach and  speaker. In addition to establishing the Australian Equine Behaviour  Centre, he has written 5 books, including an international best seller,  and authored 35 peer-reviewed journal articles.

An accredited coach for more than 30 years, Andrew’s own riding  achievements include winner of the advanced section of the famous Gawler  Three-Day-Event, representing Australia in Horse Trials, short-listed  for the World Championships, competitor at State and National events in  FEI level Dressage and Eventing, and Show Jumping to Grand Prix level.  He also held a racehorse owner/trainer licence, and raced bareback in  Australia and New Zealand in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Andrew continues to conduct demonstrations at universities and  conferences around the world, including in Australia, Europe, South  Africa, the United States, Canada and New Zealand. Prestigiously awarded  an Honorary Fellow of the International Society for Equitation Science  for his ongoing contribution to equitation science, he was instrumental  in hosting the 1st International Equitation Science Symposium, held at  the AEBC in 2005. ISES conferences continue today throughout the world.

Andrew also began training elephants in Nepal in 2007, which led to  the establishment of the not-for-profit HELP Foundation (Human Elephant  Learning Program), of which he is now Senior Vice President. This  cooperative project focusses on the optimal management, welfare and  training of elephants in Asia using innovative training techniques based  on learning theory and the elimination of punishment.
